Inter-High 2014 Exchange
Dear creator,
Firstly, thank you in advance for whatever you come up with! I'm so excited to see what you do, and I want to reassure you that I'm going to love it ★★!! I'm really excited to tumble headfirst into sports anime ficdom ahhhhhhh.
Okay, now, secondly, my fandoms:
HQ!!: What I like most about HQ is how feel-good it is! I'm not so into Haikyuu angst (unless it's teenage angst: that "will he-won't he" push-pull of a crush, or the uncertainty of not knowing where your friendship with someone stands.) One thing about Haikyuu that especially makes me happy is Kageyama's continued character growth: particularly how he struggles with the social interactions that come easily to others, not because he is self-centered or cruel, but because he is intense: caught up in his own head and stuff. And he still has lots and lots of growing to do, and that's okay, it makes him interesting and i love him So Much. His frown pout thing gives me life. Tsukishima and Kageyama's banter is precious to me, and... well honestly, I love everything about Karasuno's dynamics, and gen would be amazing, fabulous, wonderful. Kageyama and Oikawa's rivalry, too, is really enjoyable for me! ☆☆ Oikawa in general is a delight-- I think Oikawa's really big capacity for empathy is overlooked a lot because of how he uses it to defeat people on the court and how he masks his more serious emotions with flippancy sometimes. And I really Love Him and all of his flaws, and i love his relationship with his team and and and--
Favorite characters: ☆Kageyama☆, Kuroo, Oikawa, Tanaka, Sugawara, Characters on sign-up: Kageyama Tobio, Hinata Shouyou, Kuroo Tetsurou, Tsukishima Kei, Oikawa Touru Things I ship most, romantically or platonically: Kagehina, Daisuga, Kurootsukki. Kagehina is the ship of my heart, though. (tho... kagekawa... is also... a thing...)
Oofuri: Um, shamelessly tbh, I'm really most into Mihashi and Abe's interactions to exclusion of everything else in Big Windup. Really, I feel like this meta says it all-- I like how they don't quite fit together, but somehow, they really, really do. There's something fumbling about them, but there's also something dark (control dynamics? orders/instruction kink? mihashi taking comfort in abe being so certain about what he wants because it means he can avoid messing it up? abe wanting/needing to be in charge to feel useful/comfortable thanks to his haruna baggage? how mihashi has an ego hiding under all that self-abasement that keeps abe intrigued? that sort of thing, 24-7 D/s??, platonic or romantic or sexual D/s dynamics or all three plus everything else???), and I'm way into it. I also like Mihashi coming into his own and gaining some self-esteem from his team's support/understanding. His wonderful team. ;;;; Abe is my absolute fav, and him learning to look outward a bit more is something I enjoy reading in fic. Abe learning to stop seeing the ghosts of playing with Haruna in his current battery is also really Important.
Favorite characters: Abe, Tajima, Momoe, Characters on Sign-up: Abe Takaya, Mihashi Ren, Shipping: Abe/Mihashi, platonic or romantic,but co-dependent, I think.
Free!: I love Mako and I want Mako to be happy, however you want to go about that-- I tend to ship Makoharu, but really, I ship all Mako ships except Mako-Sousuke! I also like gen stuff of any kind-- I don't have any characters I especially dislike, and it would be very hard for me not to love whatever you do as long as there's Makoto. Or... Mikoshiba... I also adore Kisumi >.> What a little cute.
In light of more recent episodes of Eternal Summer, I'm also really interested in exploring the dynamics of unhealthy co-dependent friendships in Free! and how this impacts Makoto, Haruka, and Rin, in their desire to figure out their futures? Kind of vague, but I think there are a lot of different ways to read episodes 10, 11, and 12, and I'm interested to see other people's ideas/interpretations.

KnB:I'm just saying that Aomine has said "the only one who can beat me is me" so many times and Kise is the copycat and can literally be him and where is all my fic about Kise fufilling Aomine's lifetime desire to be 'beaten'? Where, fandom? More seriously, I ship tons of things in KnB, almost everything except a few: Himuro/Kagami, I'm very much not into that being romantic. I prefer Aokaga to be platonic, and I prefer Aokuro to be past. I REALLY love Hyuuga/Kiyoshi/Riko, which is the exception to my no-threesome rule. My OTP is Kagami/Kuroko, shadow-light OTP, and I love Seirin in general, friendships and support networks and cuties. I really love Kaijou, too, and Kise + Midorima banter, and Aomine's general social laziness is precious. If you wanted to write or draw Kiyoshi x Murasakibara I wouldn't be mad about it... Same with Kise/Haizaki... >.> I really don't like Hanamiya? He makes me furious and I don't really want him to ever be happy. I love Alex and her boys-- art or fic pre-series is a wonderful thing. Also I really like Riko/Momoi... I see a lot of potential there for hot ladies who love basketball finding common ground in that love.

((If somehow we were matched on characters and fandoms and none of our interests ACTUALLY match, really... for reference I also love yowapeda (onoda/midosuji... midosuji in general... ;;;;), tenipuri (thrill pair, gen, seigaku, momoshiro...lol), hikago (hikaru/akira, gen, waya)... i think I've seen every sports anime... that exists, even the really old ones, and unless I've stated a preference I probably just don't have one wrt ships and stuff. Except in chihayafuru: I prefer non-romance and ot3 friendship ;;;;))
Thirdly, general:
I love both canon and aus, and I'm not sure I have a preference, as long as the team dynamics, competition, and learning to rely on people thing is still there-- you know, the stuff that makes sports anime sports anime. Shipping fic/art is great, and gen is also great. Not helpful, I know, but I really don't have a preference. I'm okay with any rating, from G to R18, but for fic: I don't particularly like fic that is all sex unless the story is porn-as-plot (the porn is being used to convey information about the characters or to lead to something new in the understanding between two characters.)
Genre-wise, I don't really enjoy angst unless it's resolved with a happy ending. I really hate character death, any kind of illness, and injuries that specifically prevent athletes from playing the sport they love. In general, I like happy fic ☆☆??!!! I'm kinda "?!?!;;;;" and I cry easily at broken dreams so please be kind to me bc I'm an ugly crier.
i'm super into sports and boybands, outside of anime, so if you'd like to do an au where they play professional sports or a different sport or maybe are idols, i could get behind that easy peasy.
Genderswapping: It's not something I am particularly interested in/seek out reading: as in, for example, a fic where Ryouma was born a cis-girl and the fic is a retelling of canon as if he were a cis-girl the whole time. (This is not speaking wrt trans headcanons or non-genderbinary identification, i'm much more interested in that-- for example, maybe Kageyama was born female but identifies as something else on the gender spectrum that matches his presenting as male in canon, or whatever else you'd like to play with/explore along these lines.)
Favorite tropes of mine for fic include time-travel/redo/chance to fix a mistake/woke up in an alternate reality, "oh, we're dating? i hadn't noticed but now i want to kiss you and is that okay?", friends-to-lovers, denial-that-makes-sharing-a-bed-super-uncomfortable, "we should just be friends for the good of the team but i can't stop thinking about you", etc. Get-together fic and handholding art is my fav thing. Ever. And sloppy kisses. And fic about best friends being there for each other ;;;; I really like fic where one character's disadvantageous idiosyncrasies don't prevent them from making friends.
For visual art specifically: i tend to like cute things, and boys in cheerleader outfits with pom poms, and boys in animal suits, and girls in tuxedos... ANYONE IN COLLARS??? that sort of thing...? i usually prefer things on the cuter side (as opposed to the sexier side.)
