hello hi there! first of all, thank you in advance for whatever you end up giving me!
I love both canon and aus, and I'm not sure I have a preference, as long as the team dynamics, competition, and learning to rely on people thing is still there-- you know, the stuff that makes sports anime sports anime. I'm okay with any rating from G to R, but I don't seek out fic that is all sex unless the story is porn-as-plot (the sex is being used to convey information about the characters or to lead to something new in the understanding between two characters.)
Genre-wise, I don't really enjoy melodrama unless it's resolved with a happy ending. I tend to avoid character death, any kind of terminal illness, and injuries that specifically prevent athletes from playing the sport they love unless the story is about them overcoming that sort of thing. I cry really ugly so pls help me out with that happy ending, fam.
i'm super into sports (hockey, mlb, footie, really i just love ACTUAL SPORTS) and boybands and murder mysteries, as well as the Indiana Jones-ian archeology and adventures, so if you're looking for aus...
Favorite tropes of mine for fic include woke up in an alternate reality, "oh, we're dating? i hadn't noticed but now i want to kiss you and is that okay?", friends-to-lovers, denial-that-makes-sharing-a-bed-super-uncomfortable, "we should just be friends for the good of the team but i can't stop thinking about you", etc. Handholding is my fav thing. Ever. And sloppy kisses. And fic about best friends being there for each other ;;;; I really like fic where one character's disadvantageous idiosyncrasies don't prevent them from making friends. fake dating?????? is always 200%. fake married???? even better. secretly dating and fake not-dating???? best.
i'm pretty relaxed about tropey stuff: I am horrified by body-swaps though, i have no idea why they just make me weirdly uncomfortable and i really, really can't. actually, I have a list of things I like and don't like in fic and art, here on my listography if you'd like/need! in general, if you'd need to find me/spy on me, kittenyarns.carrd.co, etc
